Property is situated between Castelnaudary 12 km, renowned for its ‘cassoulet’, and world-famous Carcassonne 25 km with its medieval city. The famous Cathar castles, such as Montsegur, and Rennes le Chateau (featured in Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code) are also within easy reach. International airports: Carcassonne 15 km/Toulouse 96 km.

Accessed by a shared driveway with typically French farmhouses nearby. Wonderful converted barn set amongst two-thirds of an acre of garden with private pool 9 x 4 x 0.9-1.7m depth with security cover. Ideal for exploring the area or just lazing around the pool or enjoying the spectacular views. Wonderful south-facing terrace with BBQ, accessed from the kitchen/dining room or from the lounge/dining room, looking to the Pyrénées.

The property is light and spacious and has been completely refurbished to a high standard with much attention to detail and comfort yet still retaining its original character. Luxury fitted and equipped open plan kitchen/dining area with microwave and dishwasher. Fireplace and large french windows opening to terrace with superb views over fields and the snow-capped Pyrénées. Spacious lounge and formal dining area, with enormous arched windows, fireplace and doors to terrace. Shower/WC. Laundry room with washing machine and dryer. Two open-tread wooden staircases to first floor (not suitable for toddlers) one from the kitchen and one from the lounge. First floor at lounge end, Bed 1: double with views to garden, fields and Pyrénées. Bed 2: 2 singles with views to the Black Mountain. Both these rooms have wash basins. Large comfortable mezzanine/library/lounge area with TV/DVD and CD player with door to study. At kitchen/diner end, Bed 3: master double with ensuite luxury hydro massage shower and WC. Also bathroom with separate WC. No smoking property. Any day start (Saturday arrival in late June, July and August), 7 night min stay.
